The future bride is a 2002 graduate of Lawrence High School. She earned a Doctorate of Medicine in August from St. Matthew’s University School of Medicine and is preparing for her residency in 2011.
The future groom is the son of Prakash and Arti Patel, Atlanta. He is a 2001 graduate of Shiloh High School. He earned a Doctorate of Dental Medicine in 2008 from the Medical College of Georgia. He is a dentist with Great Expressions firm in Atlanta.
The couple plan a May 17, 2011, wedding in Lawrence.

Gwynne Evans, Tonganoxie, and Ricky Shane Reid, Colchester, England, were married in a private ceremony Nov. 12, 2010, in New York City.
The bride is the daughter of Judith Evans, Tonganoxie, and the late Lemuel C. Evans Jr. She earned a bachelor’s degree in communications and media production from Hastings (Neb.) College in 2006 and is a freelance film producer in New York.
The groom is the son of Norman and Janet Reid, Colchester. He earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from Essex University in 2002 and a master’s degree in education from City College of New York in 2008. He is a middle school math teacher and freelance director in Brooklyn, N.Y.
The couple reside in Brooklyn.

Dennis and Judy Dailey, Lawrence, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Friday with family.
Judy Brown and Dennis Dailey were married Dec. 17, 1960, in Woodbury, Minn.
The couple moved to Lawrence in 1969. Dennis is a retired professor emeritus of social welfare at Kansas University. Judy was a clinical social worker at Lawrence Memorial Hospital and served in the ministry for older adults at First United Methodist Church.
They have two daughters, Lisa and husband Jeff Dehon, and Amy and husband Tad Cooper; and three grandchildren Max Dehon, and Wes and Grace Cooper.

Lois and John Ames, Lawrence, will celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary on Tuesday.
The couple were married Dec. 14, 1945, in Arkansas City.
John retired from the Lawrence school district after 32 years. Lois retired from Standard Mutual Life Insurance Company after 22 years.
They have a daughter, Paula Gaskill and husband Steve, Sacramento, Calif.; a son, Mark and wife Betsy, Columbia, Mo.; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

The future bride is a 2004 graduate of Lawrence High School, a 2009 graduate of AIB College of Business, and is a freelance court reporter at Hostetler & Associates in Overland Park.
The future groom is also the son of the late Cliff Walters. He is also a 2004 graduate of Lawrence High and is employed at Superior Wood Products in Leavenworth.
The couple plan a June 18, 2011, wedding at Lawrence Free Methodist Church.

The future groom is the son of Mark Taylor and Kathy Taylor, both of Perryville, Mo. He is a 2003 graduate of Perryville High School. He earned a medical assistant certificate from Pinnacle Career Institute in 2005 and has been employed with Premier Martial Arts of Lawrence since 2007.
The couple plan a July 9, 2011, wedding at Stony Point Hall in Baldwin City.
