Janice Lynn Keller and Bryan Timothy Williams, both of Shawnee, were married Oct. 4, 2008, in front of the historic Cottonwood Falls courthouse, with the Rev. David Parks officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Corinne Keller, Cottonwood Falls, and the late Jerry Keller.
The groom is the son of Tim and Megan Williams, Overland Park.
Maid of honor was Stephanie Harris. Best man was Loren Foxx. Bridesmaids were Lara Chase, Kristy Rein and Angela Bryant. Groomsmen were Brad Simmons, Matt Wildy and Rob Arnold. Ushers were Gabe Boucher and Alyson Curtis. Photo guest book attendants were Megan Meyers and Lindsay Vise. Gift attendants were Sarah Harbaugh and Emily Coffin. Violinist was Mike Ireland. Photographers were Zach Henderson and Sarah Danford. Flowers were done by Erin Volante.
A reception was given at the Prairie Coffee Company in downtown Cottonwood Falls.
The bride is a graduate of Chase County High School. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in journalism from Kansas University in 2002. She is the vice president of alumni relations at Pennington and Company in Lawrence.
The groom is a graduate of South Kent Prep School in Connecticut. He attended Central Missouri State University and Johnson County Community College. He is the events manager for Screenland Theater in Kansas City, Mo.
The couple reside in Shawnee.

Nicholas Romo and Jessica Ventura
John and Brenda Ventura, Bonner Springs, announce the engagement of their daughter, Jessica Ventura, Bonner Springs, to Nicholas Romo, Edwardsville.
The future bride is a 2003 graduate of Bonner Springs High School. She earned a bachelor’s degree in sports management from Kansas University this month.
The future groom is the son of Crespin and Cheryl Romo, Edwardsville. He is also a 2003 graduate of BSHS. He earned bachelor’s degrees in microbiology and biochemistry from KU in 2007. He is a pharmacy student at KU and plans to graduate in 2011.
The couple plan a Jan. 2, 2009, wedding at The Mission Theatre.

Bill “Junior” and Theo Puckett
Bill “Junior” and Theo Puckett will celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary on Sunday. Their children will be hosts for a reception from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. in the first floor dining room at Lawrence Presbyterian Manor, 1429 Kasold Drive.
William and Theodora Puckett were married Dec. 25, 1938 at the Old United Brethren Church in Lawrence.
Bill retired from Farmland in 1982 and Theo was a homemaker. The couple lived in Lawrence all of their married lives and owned a home at 1945 Ky., for 50 years before moving to Presbyterian in August 2007.
Relatives, friends and acquaintances are invited to attend. Refreshments will be served. Cards are welcome.
The couple request no gifts.

Ruth and Homer Leslie
Homer and Ruth Leslie, Perry, will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary with a family dinner.
Homer Leslie and Ruth French were married Dec. 19, 1948, in Topeka.
Homer served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He is a retired farmer. Ruth retired as a clerk from Perry USD 343 after 28 years of service.
Their children are Theresa and Phil Hart, Perry; Cindy and John Rodecap Jr., Lecompton; and Larry and Peggy Leslie, Lawrence.
They have eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

The bride is the daughter of James and Jane Zook, Larned.
The groom is the son of James and Margaret Lock, Lawrence.
Maid of honor was Jacqueline Zook. Best man was Joshua Lock. Bridesmaids were Carolyn Zook and Annie Lock. Flower girls were Alexandra Zook and Amy Lock. Groomsmen were Paul Lock and James Lock. Ushers were Denny Zook, Jesse Zook, Jacob Baldwin, Daniel Johanning, Nathan Johnson and John Krutsinger.
A reception was given at Maceli’s in Lawrence.
The bride is a graduate of Larned High School. She earned a business degree from Kansas University. She is a manager with J.C. Penney.
The groom is a graduate of Lawrence High School. He is employed with the Home Depot.
The couple reside in Lawrence.

The future bride is the business manager for Kansas University’s geology department. She has been with the university for 23 years.
The future groom is the owner of ArtFrames, which has been in business in Lawrence for 20 years.
The couple plan a May 23, 2010, wedding in Lawrence.

Melinda Brown and Joseph King, both of Baldwin City, were married Aug. 23, 2008, at Worden United Methodist Church in Baldwin City, with the Rev. Bud Tuxhorn officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Bruce and Sue Brown, Baldwin City.
The groom is the son of Debbie King, Baldwin City, and James King.
Maid of honor was Lisa Crettol. Best man was Brian Turk. Bridesmaids were Lori Montney, Amanda Helm, Emily Russell and Kylie King. Groomsmen were Andy Hannon, Kyle Flory, John Stockdale and Jason Kesinger. Flower girls were Kiley Montney and Lauren Russell. Ringbearers were Toby Crettol and Austin Crettol. Candlelighters were Mackenzie Russell and Riley Russell. Ushers were Shawn Crettol, Jake Montney, Bobby Saile and Phil Wagner.
A reception was given at the Knights of Columbus in Lawrence.
The bride is a 2006 graduate of Baldwin High School. She attended Johnson County Community College and is studying for a nursing degree at Neosho County Community College. She is employed as certified medication aide at Vintage Park in Baldwin City and as a private caregiver.
The groom is a 2004 graduate of BHS and attended Johnson County Community College. He is employed by Lawrence Memorial Hospital and the Kansas High School Athletic Association.
The couple reside in Baldwin City.
