Wood and Falley

Bridget and Justin Wood

Bridget Falley and Justin Wood were married June 10, 2006, at the SpringHill Suites by Marriott in Lawrence, with Luke Weese officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Rick and Diane Falley, Lawrence. The groom is the son of Bill and Robin Wood, Eudora.

The maid of honor was Kira Fontel Barker. The best man was Matt Rush.

Bridesmaids were Heather Falley, Candice Lavalette, Jeanetta Falley, Courtney Baker, Jessica Walton, Emilie Nikodym and Sommer White. Groomsmen were Heath Downing, Mitchell White, Travis Ball, Chad Barker and Jason Taylor.

Ushers were Brandon Falley and Allen Barker. Flower girl was Cynthia Falley. Ring bearer was Connor Barker.
A reception followed at SpringHill Suites.

The bride graduated from Free State High School and plans to graduate from Z Cosmetology Academy in January.

The groom is a high school graduate and works for Target Distribution in Topeka.

The couple reside in Lawrence.



Bennie and Rose Saathoff

Bennie and Rose Saathoff, Lawrence, will celebrate their 50th anniversary with a reception at 7:30 p.m. today at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 852, 138 Ala.

They were married Dec. 22, 1956, in Kansas City, Kan.

Bennie retired from General Motors in 1994 after 30 years of service. Rose operated a day care in their home for 10 years and retired in 1994.

Their children are Lori Wood and husband Joe, Louisburg, and Lisa Funk and husband Dave, Mesa, Ariz.

They have four grandchildren.

Adams and Ralston

Nicholaus and Meghan Adams

Meghan Ralston and Nicholaus Adams were married June 10, 2006, at Trinity Episcopal Church in Lawrence, with the Rev. Canon Jonathon Jensen officiating.

The bride is the daughter of James S. and Susan F. Ralston, Lawrence. The groom is the son of Jerry and Judy Adams, Crestline, and Mark and Marla Gorman, Fort Scott.

The matron of honor was Natalie Wilemon. The best man was Joshua Adams. Bridesmaids were Anne Stephens Rabe and Ashley Whelan Huryer. Groomsmen were Jake Brown and Kevin Peak.

Candlelighters were Amanda Frederick and Allison McFall. Flower girl was Mallory McFall. Ushers were Jacob Hodges, Isaac Hodges, Geoff Cox and Justin Cox. Readers were Joel Frederick and Dennes Frederick. Musicians were Daniel Bayless, organ; Sara Holmberg, violin; Margaret Marco, oboe; and Michael Jones, trumpet. Guest book attendants were Jessica Hodges and Deanna Hodges.

A reception was given at Maceli's in Lawrence.

The bride is a 1998 graduate of Lawrence High School. She received a bachelor's degree in human biology and psychology in 2003 from Kansas University, and a bachelor's degree in nursing from Creighton University. She is a pediatric nurse at Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, Mo.

The groom is a 1998 graduate of Fort Scott High School and received a bachelor's degree in education in 2002 from KU. He is a science teacher at Shawnee Mission West High School in Overland Park.

The couple reside in Overland Park.



Jo and Chuck Miller

Chuck and Jo Miller, rural Oskaloosa, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a family gathering at the Country Club Plaza in Kansas City, Mo., and a party in Oskaloosa.

They were married Dec. 21, 1956, in St. Marys, and have lived in rural Oskaloosa since then.

The couple farmed for several years and were owners of Miller Excavating for 25 years. They also had the country band "Honeycreek" for 25 years.

Chuck now has a cattle operation at the farm, and Jo is a homemaker and is working part time at Parker's in Oskaloosa.

Their children are Steve and Debbie Miller, Valley Falls; Jodi and Tom Ragan, and Mike and Wendi Miller, all of Oskaloosa; Judy and Terry Morrow, Topeka; and Peggy and Todd Hurd, Perry. They have 14 grandchildren.

Jessica and Joshua Welch

Jessica Leanne Schwarz and Joshua Seth Welch were married July 23, 2006, at Abe & Jake's Landing in Lawrence.
The bride is the daughter of Ilene Schwarz, Hays, and the late David Schwarz. The groom is the son of Greg and Marla Welch, Lawrence.

The matron of honor was Mandy Baker. The best man was Joel Welch. Bridesmaids were Marcie Orlowski, Katie Macfee and Katie Edmiston. Groomsmen were Dave Holtzman, Matt Hartley and Nate Brinson.

Flower girl was Nicole Berkley. Ring bearer was Dalyn Schwarz. Ushers were Jarrod Rhoades and Scott Walker. Program attendants were Kyle and Ethan Berkley. Guest book and gift table attendants were Sarah Samuelson and Sarah Stephens. Reception table attendants were Carolyn Watson and Susan Walker.

Readers were Kelly Schwarz and Shawn Schwarz. Wedding march leaders were Jill and Travis Berkley. Jody Rhoades gave the blessing.

The bride is a 2000 graduate of Grinnell High School in Grinnell and received a bachelor's degree in psychology and crime and delinquency studies in 2004 and a master's degree in social welfare in 2006, both at Kansas University. She is employed as a service coordinator with Phoenix Family Housing Corp. in Kansas City, Mo.

The groom is a 1995 graduate of Hoisington High School in Hoisington. He received a bachelor's degree in linguistics in 2006 from KU. He is employed as a conference support specialist with Premiere Global Services in Lenexa.

The couple reside in Lenexa.


Aldredge and Richardson

Robert Aldredge and Jill Richardson

Jill Richardson and Robert Aldredge, both of Orlando, Fla., announce their engagement, along with their parents.

The future bride is the daughter of Mike Richardson and Janice Richardson, both of Lawrence. The future groom is the son of Jenny and Gordon Jackson, Vandalia, Ohio, and Joseph Aldredge, Bradford, Ohio.

Jill is a 1996 graduate of Lawrence High School and received a degree in environmental studies in 2000 from Kansas University.

Robert received a degree in wildlife management in 2002 from The Ohio State University.

They are working on master's degrees at the University of Central Florida in Orlando.

The couple plan a July 2007 wedding in Tipp City, Ohio.



Don and Mary Kay Craig

Don and Mary Kay Craig, Lawrence, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with their family at a dinner on Dec. 16. Their children were hosts of the event.

Don Craig and Mary Kay Hill were married Dec. 15, 1956, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Lawrence.
Mary Kay graduated from Lawrence High School.

She was employed at Massachusetts Bonding and Insurance Co. in Dallas and Montgomery Ward, W.A. Dunbar Excavating and M.D. Craig Construction, all in Lawrence. She retired in 2004.

Don graduated from Lawrence High School. He worked as a heavy equipment operator on the construction of the Kansas Turnpike, Tuttle Creek Dam and the Air Force Academy in Colorado before returning to Lawrence in 1958.

In 1973, he became a project manager and estimator for W.A. Dunbar Excavating and an owner of Asphalt Improvement Co.

He joined R.D. Johnson Excavating in 1993 and now is managing Asphalt Improvement Co. Don raced modified and sprint cars on many dirt tracks in the Midwest from 1960 to 1979.

Their children are Michael and Kristy Craig, Baldwin City; and Thomas Craig, and Debbie and Tim Green, all of Lawrence. They have 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
