The Baker University baseball team beat Clarke 5-4 on Friday in the Heart of America Conference Tournament’s consolation bracket.

The win followed an 18-8 loss to Central Methodist on Thursday.

Against Clarke, Baker took a 4-0 lead in the second inning. Clarke narrowed the gap with a two-run fourth inning and added one more in the seventh inning. The Wildcats scored again in the eighth, and one more run for Clarke in the ninth wasn’t enough to keep the game going.

On Saturday, No. 6 Baker will face No. 5 Park at 1:30 p.m. in Ozark, Missouri. The game can be streamed online at heartconferencenetwork.com.
