This last week featured the boys swim and dive state meet with wrestling regionals and a few end-of-season basketball games. Here are two weeks whose performances stood out to be this week’s Journal-World Athletes of the Week:

Ryan Lane, Lawrence

Ryan Lane ended his high school career as a first-team all-state swimmer after finishing second in the state in the 50-yard freestyle and third in the 100-yard freestyle.

Izzy Brunkow, Eudora

Eudora’s girls basketball team won its final two Frontier League games of the season to finish 14-0 in the conference with wins over Paola and Louisburg. Against Paola, Brunkow led the team with 16 points and added four steals and four rebounds.
