The Free State Firebirds sent 12 wrestlers to the 6A state tournament, which is a program record. There, the team scored 100 points and finished sixth with four state placers.
Player of the Year: Grayson Hagen, Free State

Hagen was the 6A runner-up in the 165-pound weight class his senior year, which was his fourth time placing at the state tournament. He set a school record in career wins with 161 at Free State.
Dax Duffett, Tonganoxie

Duffett placed sixth in the 4A state tournament in the 138-pound weight class while winning 29 total matches in his junior year.
Lou Elsten, Lawrence

Elsten placed third in the 120-pound weight class in the state tournament this season. The junior was a regional and Sunflower League champion and had a 42-5 record this year.
Blaine Larkin, Free State

Larkin finished fifth in the 215-pound bracket at the 6A state tournament, which was his second time placing in the tournament. He tied with fellow senior Otto Reese for the most wins in a season with 49 and surpassed 100 career wins.
Brady Martin, Tonganoxie

Martin was the runner-up in the 157-pound weight class in the 4A state tournament. The junior finished with 42 wins on the season with only nine losses.
Otto Reese, Free State

Reese placed fourth in the 144-pound weight class in the 6A state tournament. He tied with fellow senior Blaine Larkin for most wins in a season at 49 this year and surpassed 100 career wins.
Zane Shaw, Free State

Shaw, a junior, placed fifth in the state tournament in the 190-pound weight class. Shaw finished with 34 wins this year.
Brodie Starcher, Tonganoxie

Brodie Starcher
Starcher finished fifth in the 113-pound weight class in the 4A state tournament. He concluded his junior campaign with 37 wins.
Rowdey Starcher, Tonganoxie
Starcher placed sixth in the 106-pound weight class in the 4A state tournament this season. He finished with 26 wins in his freshman season.
