To the editor:

Whether temporary or permanent, the street department staff that made the changes near the intersection where 27th Street, Kansas Highway 10 and Wakarusa Drive converge made a terrible decision when they put cones and marked double yellow lines on the street so that you can’t leave Wakarusa and go straight ahead to 27th Street.

You must exit Wakarusa to the south to the K-10 trafficway. Wakarusa Street east to 27th Street has been a direct street to many people in that area and on east to Crossgate. I only hope the fire department at 2121 Wakarusa and the other emergency vehicles can get through when needed to many homes in that area east on 27th Street.
