Letter to the editor: Trump won and that’s a good thing

To the editor:

The election responses in the Journal-World were expected. The fact the people of America overwhelmingly reelected Donald Trump was a clear message that what has been happening in the USA over the last four years was not working. It’s amazing to me the Journal-World seems to print mainly certain views.

Lies and hate will continue. Where’s the “joy and love” now? You cannot tell me you weren’t better off four years ago! It’s time for all of America, and stop acting like someone owes them something and everyone work together to make our country, city and county better. Our country was founded on principles that have long faded. The last four years was an example of this. To watch the media outlets and others cry like their dog was stolen is sad. Ponder for a moment all the things that happened over the last four years. Tearing down historic statues, riots in the streets, defunding the police, virtue-signaling, men in women’s sports, open borders, flooding the U.S. with criminals and fentanyl and utilizing the Department of Justice because of differences; this is just a short list why the election went the way it did. We have elections to right the ship. The last captain has been lost at sea. It’s time for our country to try a different direction with a firm rudder. Our forefathers thank the American people.

Mike Everett,
