Emergency crews respond on Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2025, to a fire in the 1900 block of East 1300 Road.

Numerous emergency vehicles are on scene at a structure fire north of Lawrence.

Crews were dispatched shortly after 2 p.m. Wednesday to the 1900 block of East 1300 Road, where smoke was seen emanating from an outbuilding.

Lawrence-Douglas County Fire Medical told the Journal-World that fire had spread from a brush pile to grass, which caught a pole barn on fire. LDCFM said the fire is under control.

No injuries have been reported at this time. LDCFM was receiving assistance from Douglas County Consolidated Fire District No. 1 for water supply and fire trucks.
