A passerby reported a downed aircraft near Vinland Saturday morning, Aug. 30, 2025.

A passerby found an aircraft off the roadway Saturday morning near Vinland, according to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.

The aircraft was found at North 700 and East 1700 roads. No pilot or person was with the aircraft when it was found, the sheriff’s office said.

The Kansas Highway Patrol was called to handle the investigation.
