A 23-year-old Topeka man was arrested early Saturday morning outside Logie’s bar in downtown Lawrence after he allegedly threw a glass bottle at a bouncer and spit at people.

Didier Omarion Lee Cosey was taken into custody around 1:30 a.m. outside the bar in the 700 block of Massachusetts Street.

According to Lawrence Police Department spokeswoman Laura McCabe, bar management was trying, unsuccessfully, to get a disorderly customer to leave but weren’t successful. Witnesses say he threw a glass bottle at a bouncer and was spitting at them.

“Officers had a good description of the suspect and found him outside,” McCabe said. “He was uncooperative with officers, but they were able to eventually get him into handcuffs without any injuries.”

Cosey was arrested on suspicion of aggravated battery, battery, battery on a law enforcement officer, interference with duties of a police officer and disorderly conduct.
