A Lawrence man was charged on Monday with attempted second-degree murder after allegedly attacking a woman.

The man, Dustin Ian Lane, 38, is charged in Douglas County District Court with one felony count of attempted second-degree murder and one felony count of intimidation of a witness, according to charging documents. The incident is alleged to have happened on Sunday. He was arrested at his home in connection with the charges around 4 a.m.

The charging documents allege that he intentionally tried to kill a woman, attacked her and then threatened her to prevent her from reporting the incident. The Journal-World has reached out to the Lawrence Police Department to learn more about the incident.
