A man was found unresponsive in a tent at a Lawrence park on Tuesday and later declared dead, and police do not believe any foul play is involved at this time.

Police responded to Centennial Park, 2125 W. Ninth St., around 8:15 a.m. after people walking through the park reported a man in a tent who was unresponsive, according to a post on social media from the Lawrence Police Department.

When officers arrived, the man was cold to the touch but the responding officer believed the man had a pulse, the post said. The man was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Police continued to investigate the incident and did not find any immediate signs of foul play or trauma. The man did not have identification on him, according to the post.
