A Kansas City, Kansas, woman has been charged in Douglas County with dozens of sex crimes against children, including promoting sexually explicit performances.

The woman, April Caitlin Ticer, 25, has been charged with three counts of sexual exploitation of a minor by promoting a sexually explicit performance of a child under the age of 14, and an additional 50 counts of exploitation of a minor involving possession of media of a child under the age of 18, according to charging documents in the case.

The promotion of a performance charge is an off-grid person felony, which is the most serious kind.

The charges relate to two incidents on Oct. 14, 2019, and Sept. 23, 2020, according to the documents. Witnesses listed in the documents include Facebook, Google and Midco.

Ticer was charged in March of 2021 with two counts of exploitation of a minor involving possession of media of a child under the age of 18, but the charges were dropped without prejudice in January, according to court records, meaning they could be refiled. Those charges are connected to the same dates listed in the newly filed charges, according to charging documents.

Ticer was booked into the Douglas County Jail around 9:20 a.m. Sunday and was released on a $25,000 bond later that afternoon.
