A second Lawrence man has been arrested in connection with a reported robbery last week.

Victor G. Moreno, 18, was formally charged in Douglas County District Court on Monday with aggravated robbery, a level-three felony, and aggravated burglary, a level-four felony.

Judge James T. George set a $100,000 cash or surety bond and scheduled Moreno’s next court appearance for Nov. 2.

Police arrested Moreno around 11:30 a.m. Saturday in the 1000 block of Indiana Street, according to the booking log. Lt. David Ernst of the Lawrence Police Department told the Journal-World last week that officers responded to a report of a robbery in the 900 block of Arkansas Street around 9:15 p.m. Wednesday. A resident told police three individuals approached the resident and struck the resident with a pistol, which caused a minor injury. The three individuals reportedly entered the resident’s home and stole money, then fled before police arrived.

Police later arrested Casey L. Williams Jr., 24, on Thursday. Williams, who has been arrested multiple times in recent years and has faced many criminal charges, was formally charged with aggravated robbery, a level-three felony, and aggravated burglary, a level-four felony, in Douglas County District Court on Friday.

Additionally, Williams is scheduled to be sentenced Nov. 1 after he agreed to a plea deal that resulted in his being convicted of one count of burglary of a dwelling and two counts of criminal threat, all of which are felonies. The agreement included a recommended sentence of 31 months in prison.

Ernst told the Journal-World on Monday that police continue to search for the third suspect in the case.

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office declined to release Moreno’s booking photo to the Journal-World.
