A 25-year-old man was injured early Wednesday in an apparent accidental shooting, according to Lawrence police.

Officers were dispatched to the 2400 block of Louisiana Street just after 1:30 a.m. Wednesday, Lawrence Police Department spokesperson Patrick Compton said via email. The shooting “was self-inflicted and accidental,” he said.

The man was taken to an area hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening, Compton said, and no other injuries were reported in connection with the incident.
