A man has been charged in Douglas County District Court with molesting two young children over a period of years, beginning when the victims were 3 and 5.

Brian M. Kennedy, 43, most recently living in Omaha, Neb., was arrested Tuesday on the charges, according to jail records.

He is charged with seven counts in all of aggravated indecent liberties with a child younger than 14, all off-grid — or the most severe — level felonies, according to a complaint filed in April in Douglas County District Court and provided by the district attorney’s office following his arrest.

Kennedy allegedly sexually abused one victim numerous times between 2013 and 2018, beginning when the child was 3, according to the charges. The other victim was allegedly abused between 2013 and 2014, beginning when that child was 5.

According to the district attorney’s office, Kennedy was scheduled to make his first appearance in court Wednesday afternoon.

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office declined to release Kennedy’s mugshot to the Journal-World.
