County Route 5, or Clinton Lake outer road, will be reduced to one lane for asphalt surfacing beginning on Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2026.
The Clinton Lake outer road – including East 250th Road and East 251st Diagonal Road – will be reduced to one lane starting on Wednesday for asphalt surfacing, according to an announcement from Douglas County Public Works.
The project includes 10.5 miles of hot in-place recycling of the existing asphalt pavement, followed by a new asphalt overlay. Crews will use a specialized train of heaters and milling equipment to recycle the existing pavement materials on-site, restoring pavement quality while reducing the need for new materials. Construction is expected to take two to three months to complete, weather permitting.
Daytime lane closures as well as traffic delays are expected, the announcement said. There will be a pilot car and flaggers on site who will help maintain traffic during construction.
