The Lawrence Humane Society announced this week the appointment of Kirk Putman as interim executive director of the animal shelter.
Putman takes over for Meghan Scheibe, current interim executive director, who is leaving the Humane Society at the end of June to pursue other opportunities, according to a news release. Putman is a longtime senior finance executive with Hill’s Pet Nutrition.
Putman will serve as the leader of the Humane Society while the organization continues a nationwide search for an executive director. Former Executive Director Kate Meghji announced in October that she was stepping down after four years in her position.
