The City of Lawrence’s human resources director, Megan Dodge, will be leaving the position later this year, the city announced on Tuesday.
In a news release, the city announced Dodge “will be departing the organization for a new opportunity, effective November 14.” The release did not say anything about what or where Dodge’s new job would be.
City Manager Craig Owens said in the release that Dodge had been “a true champion for both the people of Team Lawrence and for building an engaged and empowered team culture.”
“Her leadership has left a meaningful mark on our organization, and we know her impact will be felt wherever she goes,” Owens said.
Dodge has been with the city since early 2022, as the Journal-World reported. The release did not include any details about who would take over Dodge’s responsibilities after she leaves or about the hiring process for a new HR director.
Dodge is the second city department leader within a month to announce their departure. In August, Parks, Recreation and Culture Director Luis Ruiz announced he would leave his role effective Oct. 4 to return to Mesa, Arizona, where he had previously worked, as the Journal-World reported.
