In his State of the Schools address slated for Tuesday evening, Lawrence school district Superintendent Anthony Lewis plans to tout student and staff successes, accomplishments tied to the district’s strategic plan, and other major initiatives, according to district spokesperson Julie Boyle.

Boyle said that the event will be similar to the district’s back-to-school kickoff at the Lied Center, which featured speeches from several district administrators.

“That was just for staff, so the community didn’t have the opportunity to hear those things,” Boyle said.

Open to the public, the State of the Schools engagement runs from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at Liberty Memorial Central Middle School, 1400 Massachusetts St.

In addition to Lewis’ address, the event will also include student-led performances from the LMCMS excalibur choir, Free State High School chamber orchestra, and a solo performance from West Middle School violinist Harrison Leiszler.
