City Hall and City Hall Riverfront, including Municipal Court, closed because of power outage

Lawrence City Hall, 6 E. Sixth St., Thursday, July 7, 2016

Various city services will be closed Tuesday because of a power outage.

The city announced in a news release Tuesday morning that due to a power outage affecting phone and internet systems at City Hall, 6 E. Sixth St., and City Hall Riverfront, which is directly east of City Hall, both buildings will be closed for the remainder of Tuesday.

City Hall and Riverfront offices include utility billing customer service, solid waste customer service, the planning office and Municipal Court. All the offices will be unable to receive calls and unavailable for in-person assistance today.

The release states that most other city services are unaffected and will run as normal Tuesday, including solid waste collection, Lawrence Transit and Parks and Recreation.
