Changes to the LJWorld.com blogs page

We’re still working out a few bugs, but you may have noticed some updates since my first post on the new blog roll out.

First, you’ve probably been receiving notifications when other users follow you, comment on your posts, or send you a message. Jonathan wrote a quick guide to adjusting notification settings.

Second, with your feedback, we adjusted the display on the blogs page. The first version of this page displayed all text, video and images in the “Content” field on the blogs page and looked similar to this:

We changed this display to include only the first 100 characters of text and a thumbnail of the first image in the “Content” field.

This change is likely not permanent, and we’ll continue to look at ways to make the blogs page better. Continue to post using the “Content” and “Extended content fields” as previously explained. As we develop the next version of the blogs page, Extended content may play a significant role.

Remember: As of now, anything you put in the extended content field will only display on the individual post page.
