The majority of the night was another quiet one. Police responded on a few disturbances and assisted a woman that thought she was hearing someone messing with her front door. There was no at the door when Police arrived. A few noise complaints and traffic stops.
Just about 5:50 a.m. LDCFM and Douglas County Deputies were called to respond to Milemarker 146 on Highway 59. This is near North 700 Road. The first deputy arrived on scene of a single vehicle fatality accident. The vehicle is reported to be off of the roadway into a field with major damage. Deputies almost immediately advised that the driver was deceased. Still a developing story. Check the LJWorld Story for the latest updates.
Seconds after 6:00 a.m. LDCFM was called to respond on a 2 Alarm structure fire at 785 Maple in Lawrence. LDCFM arrived on scene and advised fully involved residence. The residents were all able to safely evacuate and reported to LPD that there are at least 10 oxygen tanks inside the house for one of the residents. That resident is currently being treated on scene by a Medic unit. A camper that was parked next to the residence was also involved when LDCFM arrived on scene. Crews are also dealing with down power lines in the yard. Check the LJWorld Story for the latest updates as they become available
