I don't think making people aware of breast cancer is an issue anymore. I think making people care enough to donate money or assistance is more the issue. The apathy in today's society is deplorable. We're overstimulated, overworked, and underpaid. That makes for a society that doesn't care about anything until something happens to them or someone they love. Too many people are too wrapped up in their own personal lives to give a damn about anyone else until it's too late.

Too much of any "awareness" causes Extinction of the point and reversal of the goal. In other words, people become blind to too much of anything repeated. In Lawrence we have too many people trying to beat that drum and more often it just sounds like white noice that can be ignored.

Just remember, if you're giving money to Susan G. Komen, you're giving money to Republicans.
