All things being equal, maybe. But I just can't imagine how one would make all things equal.

Isn't that what para-educators are for?

how about we stop wasting money on projects that are abused such as road work were they have 5 people doing the job that 2 can do and put that money back into education.

Seriously. Back in 1993 when the great sinkhole opened at the bridge end across from Johnnies, I was driving a cab. There were always several people standing around looking down at the hole. One or two would be doing...something. One day I counted 15 people standing there.

Teacher Salary Support
Would you favor a sales tax increase to provide more money for Lawrence teacher salaries? http://www2.ljworld.com/polls/2003/mar/teacher_salaries/
80% of 5,198 votes said yes. Not many polls attract 5,198 voters.

They deserve CEO salaries and CEOs deserve their salaries. Teachers have to train tomorrow's leaders.

Should not pay teacher by the head, by how many young noggins s(he) can wrangle. If you do that, everybody gonna end up short-changed one way or another. Just IMO but I am not a teacher & do not ..uh...have any class?

We should not have these large class sizes. Use the money to hire more teachers, and keep class sizes small.

+1 is the appropriate response. Yes?~) That's only because it's true, of course! Do I get an "A"?

Government workers get paid what the voters say they get paid.

Unless the public employee unions lean on elected officials to give them raises, part of which is then kicked back to the politician as campaign "donations". That's the Chicago Way.

Sure! We do it with welfare and those parents make a choice to have more kids. Teachers don't make the choice for larger class sizes.

Teachers are not in it for the money
