Yah, what's with all the hate? ';cept for mizzou. They stink. They should go to jail. They should be banished to the Phantom Zone along with General Zod.
Ok, ok, I'll go Baylor. Kenneth Starr is a putz.

Can't . . . can't we just all get along?

In all the long, long history of mankind it's never happened yet...so it's not likely to now...
Sorry...

It's hard to dislike KSU the same way. Maybe for those from Overland Park it's easier. Those of us from west of Wanamaker, though... many of us have decent memories in MHK. A debate camp or Boys' State or just a house party or two. We even briefly considered going there. Not the same sort of rivalry.
emceelean 1 year, 2 months ago
It's strange to think that Wanamaker is actually a decent conception for the east-to-west partition in Kansas.

I agree with the other posters, why do we need to despise someone? It's not like we had to despise a team and we happened to choose Missouri. There are other reasons to despise Missouri and their leaving to the SEC won't stop me from feeling ill every time I cross the state line into that retched state.

Which ever on we are playing that day....haha.

Thay would be one.

Four possibilities other than K-State: Baylor, because of Bill Clinton hater and sexually repressed Baylor President Ken Starr: Oklahoma, because of OU President and former right-wing Senator David Boren: Texas, because of Deloss Dodds, justifier of officiating screw-up in KU loss to Texas in FB! Oklahoma State, because they have Eskimo Joe's!

eskimo pie and maybe someday bill self
classclown 1 year, 2 months ago
Probably TCU because of the whole christian aspect with this being Lawrence.
TokerT 1 year, 2 months ago
Baylor is a Christian Univerisity also. So we should hate them too?
classclown 1 year, 2 months ago
Maybe we should just wait and see what team a future mediocre coach that will end up getting a street renamed after him gets his panties in a twist over.
blindrabbit 1 year, 2 months ago
Any of the Texas schools because of Governor Rick (Hair) Perry! Either Oklahoma School because of whacky, globally warmed Senator James (Mountain) Inhofe! K-State because of graduate, "C-Steet", Smilin Sam! Iowa State, because Larry Eustacy thought the Mizzou cheerleaders were hot! West Virginia, because a equally hillbilly(ish) replacement for Mizzou!

LJW, this has got to be the most childish poll question ever.

Good riddance. The answer is nobody. And that is a good thing.
JackMcKee 1 year, 2 months ago
no, wait, :heblosalot is the new most despised
kernal 1 year, 2 months ago
Yeah, let's stir up some hate!
This is the kind of poll I'd expect to come out of Columbia, MO
CWGOKU 1 year, 2 months ago
Why do we need rival. We are Kansas, we have no rival. This question is so missouri-ish
jayhawklawrence 1 year, 2 months ago
I've still got plenty of hate left for Texas...
KUBABYJ 1 year, 2 months ago
TEXAS, remember "everything is bigger in texas" well that includes EGO.
sunshine_noise 1 year, 2 months ago
Who cares? I think sports are highly over-rated and a boring to watch.
jonas_opines 1 year, 2 months ago
It will always be Mizzou.
punkrockmom 1 year, 2 months ago
I like the friendly rivalry with KSU. It's like sibling rivalry, at least to me. It's exactly how I felt as a kid with my brother. I can beat up on him, but don't let anyone else touch him. So, I say KState. But, they can beat who they want, just not us.
SinoHawk 1 year, 2 months ago
Yeah, MIZZOU will always be my most hated. I think that we should nuke them from orbit. It's the only way to be sure they won't come crawling back...
clovis_sangrail 1 year, 2 months ago
Sadly, there was no option for "Who gives a crap anyway?"
sundancewierdo 1 year, 2 months ago
This is a pointless conversation. Everyone knows that if you want a Big 12 trophy in men's basketball you gotta come through the Phog in Lawrence. Every team is going to give us their best shot which makes all of them a rival. As for the rest of our sports, it's never going to be the same with any other school. But on continuing the rivalry? Why? If there isn't anything at stake, what's the appeal?
CWGOKU 1 year, 2 months ago
Well played
blindrabbit 1 year, 2 months ago
The only reasons to continue the Mizzou rivalry would be to their benefit:
Give them relevance in their natural home (Midwest)! Give them some access to Kansas City area recruits that do not "cotton" to the SEC! Give them a chance to fill the Paige Center once a year! Give them one leg out of their Confederate past!
kosmo513 1 year, 2 months ago
Hey classclown why do we have to hate TCU just because of the Christian name? What have Christians ever done to you? They are just people who exercise a faith, like any other religion does. In fact, the only religion in the world that tells their followers to kill anyone who does not believe as they do is Islam. No one else does that.
Having said all that I would still like to play Missouri once or twice a year. I just love the rivalry, always have.
punkrockmom 1 year, 2 months ago
That is historically inaccurate. I'm going to guess the Christian thing was a joke. Lawrence = Liberal = anti-Christian.
bad_dog 1 year, 2 months ago
= you start throwing things, which leads to less social calls, which leads to collecting small animals...
jayhawklawrence 1 year, 2 months ago
Hate is a difficult word I reserve for a select few and I don't think I can hate K-State or Frank Martin.
That doesn't mean we cannot have an intense rivalry.
Missouri was a different deal. Columbia, MO just plain sucks and always has.
newmedia 1 year, 2 months ago
I suppose KSU by default but nothing better than beating the Huggy Bear!
purplesage 1 year, 2 months ago
Mizzou is despised and hated. Key word is despised. That means it has to be TX or OU. They are so easy to despise.
CWGOKU 1 year, 2 months ago
New question, please
pace 1 year, 2 months ago
What creep decided despised is the word to go with? They are interested in beefing the scum level of athletic fanaticism. I prefer asking people who would be great rivals? The sports' culture is just dirty business to some. This poll question is so Jerry Springer.

When are they going to change the name to the BIG 9??
bad_dog 1 year, 2 months ago
As are pseudonyms...
bad_dog 1 year, 2 months ago
Au contraire, Antonym. A pseudonym is a fictitious name used to hide the identity of an author, as the user name "Antonym" hides yours.
The word "Jayhawks" is a nickname and as used by you above, a proper noun.
bad_dog 1 year, 2 months ago
A nickname (or any name) is not a pseudonym unless there is an intent to hide a real identity.
Here, let me help you out: http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/pseudonym
Obviously, the word "Jayhawks" is not being "used by an author to hide his or her identity" or as a "pen name".
If I call myself "Jayhawk" in an attempt to hide my real identity on this forum, that would be a pseudonym. As used here, in the context of a school mascot, it clearly is not a pseudonym.
Wallythewalrus 1 year, 2 months ago
yep, no need to despise any other school. I would have voted for Nebraska, but sadly they too are goners.
