Anyone wonder why he leaves a year early and the next day someone involved in the ticket scandel wants to delay his sentence? Maybe Lew had a little more to hide that is coming out now and needed to take off before he gets named in this. Stay tuned.
As distasteful as it is, I suppose that playing the "money game" is unavoidable, if we want a winning team. Lew is good at that. It was probably good he was around during the Big 12 alignment.
The exercise equipment was a mistake on his part (even though brought to light by a sociopath that Lew rightfully fired).
It is possible that he didn't have anything directly to do with the ticket scandal, but it happened on his watch, by folks in his employ.
His character is suspect, his methods are suspect. Its good that he is gone.
F- for Failure.
Never in the history of KU athletics has one man done so much damage to the University (and taken credit for so much).
Let's take one last look at the Legacy.
Creating bad blood with alumni when revamping the field house seating. Not grandfathering even those who had been the longest and most loyal supporters.
The 2008 National Championship. Bill Self and the team deserve ALL of the credit. Yet, Lew pranced around with a cigar, what an embarrassment.
The Orange Bowl. The reason KU got it was their legacy fans of traveling well with the team. This wasn't any coup by Lew.
Increased fund-raising dollars pour in after both of those events. Thank the basketball/football players and coaches, not Lew for the added revenue..
The placement of the football practice facility. Give Lew the credit there. He wiped out the beauty of that side of the hill, reduced the parking and tailgating spaces (that were already in short supply). There will never be a closed practice on that field. Every practice can be filmed/recorded by anyone overlooking the practice field. Unbelievable.
Techno music at the basketball games. Cannons and smoke at the football games. An embarrassing circus of special effects.
Firing the football coach DURING the season was inexcusable. We might have been able to pull out that last game had Perkins not pulled that bonehead stunt.
I won't even go into Mangino's replacement.
Ordering the East-side luxury boxes after one bowl game? How's that working out now?
The investigation into the exercise equipment at his home. Great press again.
The ticket scandal. Lew denied any knowledge of what was going on. Was anyone surprised there? Another embarrassment for the university under Lew's reign.
Give Chancellor Gray-Little credit for making the change now.
Anyone that thinks the Chancellor or the AD is in charge is deluding themselves. The donors are in charge. Money is always in charge.
Lew Perkins was one of the major contributors in re-focusing the university from its mistaken role in education into its more appropriate roll focused on basketball and football. I give him a D because he wasn't the only contributor to this fundamental collapse of university ethics.
Bonnie; D plus
Just wait until all the indictments come out. hehehehehehehe
The LJW needs to add an 'I' option for incomplete since he bailed.
I am not sure if I can vote, is there some kind of point system or other fee to KUAI which I need to pay before I am allowed to vote? Am I possibly infringing on some intellectual property rights that I may be required to pony-up for?

Getting more dough than anyone deserves: A+
A? You've lost scholarships, endured academic and ethics violations, and currently have the FBI breathing down your neck....all on Lew's watch.
I voted B.
I agree with jihad, it would have been an A a year ago.
But anyone saying worse than a B needs to look at where KU Athletics was 8 years ago before Perkins took over. Yes, some bad stuff happened recently, but the good thins Perkins did still far outweigh the bad.
Talk about grade inflation....
A year ago, it would have been an A. Unfortunately the events of the past year cast a serious shadow on his tenure in my opinion.
