And I miss them so much every day. They were such wonderful people ...

I wish I had discussed my very serious problem that occured January 19, 1986 with them back when it was still possible.
Today, I can only wonder what their reaction would have been.

This poll is somewhat incomplete. They should have also added the ability to also ask if your grandparents were your primary care takers and/or lived with you. It is more common than you might think. For some it may have been just a portion of your childhood, for others, it could have been their for their entire childhood.

My maternal grandma and paternal grandfather werw an intergral part of my life. One of the other two died long before I was born, and the other when I was two months old. The two grandparents I knew were gold to me; wouldn't have traded them for the world.

They were all gone before 5th grade so I only remember one. But I had an adopted one that was wonderful. My cousin's Grandma.

I could check all three responses. Never had a chance to know either grandfather, as they died when I was small. Spent a lot of time with my maternal grandmother, as she lived in the same town as we did. Only got to see my paternal grandma (and step-grandpa) when they could come and see us from California. They still managed to be a loving, supportive, and wonderful presence in my life.
