LOL... you could always buy one of those pocket chains.

I used to leave my convertible unlocked. I figured whatever was stolen inside would be cheaper to replace than a slashed top.

Reminds me of the joke about the blond who ran into the hardware store asking is anyone could open her car door with a coat hanger... she had locked the keys inside her new convertible and was afraid that it might start raining and she needed to put the top up...

Doors locked; and Glock is cocked.............

Don't all doors lock automatically now? Mine do.
murphy59 3 years ago
Yes, because there are no cars on the road today that were made before/without automatic locks.

My car is a 2004 and does not auto lock.
Yeoman2 3 years ago
My car is a 1994 and it locks automatically. And I have lost the little plastic do-dads that you can use to program the car to not do this. Read your owners manual. (Lost that too???)

Depends where I'm at. In Lawrence- unlocked with keys in ignition. In KCK, locked with alarm on.
snap_pop_no_crackle 3 years ago
Locked, otherwise the lemurs would get inside & there'd be hell to pay.

I was advised by a person in the know, City leaders are going to start taxing people who lock their doors. Both at home and in their cars. Then the owners of those cars and houses will be able to use those taxes to improve their cars and homes.

Consumer1 you are a funny, funny person. Love your comments. I lock my car when I park and I also lock it when I drive. I read a story about some guy that got beat to a pulp when an individual at a stop sign jumped in the passenger side. Yikes.
whats_going_on 3 years ago
why would I keep it unlocked? Too many robberies and such lately, no freaking way.

I don't even have a key to my house.

There's nothing in my car worth stealing. If they want to clean out the trash, have at it!!!

Most of the time it is unlock and if anyone can find anything valuable in there underneath the tons of school bags, fast food wrappers, assorted items of children's clothes, a few things that could be science experiments and everything else that seems to be in my minivan, then they can have it.
Heck, they can have the van if they really want it. Seriously, steal it. I won't mind all that much.

I always lock my doors, even in my own driveway. A cop once told me that the best deterrent against house burglars is to have a dog, even a small dog, because most thieves are lazy and figure there are plenty of houses to rob where they won't have to deal with a dog. I figure the same logic applies to car thieves...I'm just asking for someone to reach in and grab a couple of CDs or something if I don't lock the doors.

Who recommended this poll question? Wynadotte County or Topeka?
bearded_gnome 3 years ago
fourth poll option: why do you ask, why do you care, and who the h|| are you anyway? you trying to get at my secret research? you trying to unearth my secret findings about Lee Harvey Oswald and the grassy knoll? okay buddy, just come and ask me in person ... okay? please, just ask me in person about whether I lock my car doors, make my day!
fifth poll option: car door locks? you mean there are locks and keys on them thingys?
sixth poll option: of course I lock me doors, otherwise the aliens would take my car and rearrange everything in it by dephasing everything by 79 degrees! sometimes they leave their probes in my car too! so, I have to!
...
ninth poll option: since the KTA is a tool of the reichwing [remember old logrithmic?] if I lock my doors, they pay special attention through the K-tag, so I leave doors unlocked and open to let out the evil.
God bless us all.

Face it, locked doors keep honest people honest. =)

I locked my vehicle a few times, it was broke into it and glass had to be replaced, but never enough to meet deductible. Now I leave the keys in the ignition and unlocked, no one ever bothers it.
Did_I_say_that 3 years ago
The final question then is: Where do you park your car? :-P
Cappy 3 years ago
Locks are what keep honest people from stealing your stuff. Anyone who really wants your stuff will get past the locks. I always lock.
Yeoman2 3 years ago
Carry a spare house and car key in your wallet. Locksmiths can make you spare keys at minimal expense (DON"T go to the hardware store, they do not have anyone who knows diddly squat about some of the newer car locks and keys or high security locks on your house!!)

It depends, if it's in my garage it's unlocked, not in the garage it's locked.

When I lived in Fort Leavenworth you had to.
