I went out to Western KS to see my Father and Grandfather who are both vet's and lay next to one another in the Cemetery. Anyways driving through I spot a vet without a Flag at his plot I was happy to give one to him that I still had. I am not sure if Boy Scouts are normally the ones who place the flag? Well I just feel I was in the right place at the right time!

Honor the fallen and act responsibly for the living. It is the least we can do. Consuming (oil) beyond our means is not living responsibly. Living beyond our means and expecting someone else to secure it for us, is N O T a way to honor those who have accept the great responsibility of defending our nation today.

Yes, I'm letting him sleep late, then I'm going to fix him a delicious brunch.

With all due respect, Veteran's Day is for Vets and Memorial Day is to remember all those loved ones who have gone before us, Vets or no. That's my opinion anyway. However, yes, I did do something to honor a Vet today.

That may be your opinion, but it doesn't line up with history. Memorial Day was observed initially in 1868 as Decoration Day, a day to decorate the graves of Civil War veterans. After World War I, the celebration was expanded to include all those veterans who died in American wars. While it is important to remember all our loved ones, the official purpose behind Memorial Day most definitely is to remember deceased veterans.

Apparently, Haskell teacher, Julia Goodfox has. Read today's Haskell News blog. That lady is troubled.

I tried to take the day off to honor myself, but the powers that be wouldn't let me. Dang communists.
