As Goliath/KU moved in for the kill, David/UNI reached into his bag and slung one of his stones at Goliath's head. Finding a hole in the armor, the stone sank into the giant's forehead and he fell face down on the ground. David then took Goliath's sword, killed him and then cut off his head.

Anything can happen in the NCAA tournament! Overall, KU had the better team, as their 33-3 record showed, but sloppy play in the first half, turnovers and poor shooting did them in. I was hoping that this would be another great "come-from-behind" win for KU. Northern Iowa had everything to gain and nothing to lose. They were looser and did not have the pressure that KU had on them from being called "Number 1" and being told that they were shoo-ins to win the National Championship. From a 50-something person's standpoint, I sometimes wonder what kind of an affect that all of this publicity can have on athletes in their late teens and early 20s. It can't be a good thing.

I was hoping to see the match-up between UK and KU (Judd vs. Ryan) and I thought the both formers would have floored the latter. It was not meant to be. Only good thing is that the boards are not buzzing with Jayhawk fans telling the world how great they are. Their record of 33-3 is no longer the best in the nation. This is the year of the Wildcat and the Chinese calendar is being re-written!
GO CATS!!!

congratulations!!! To the UNI Panthers. You were the better team on this day and if you had to play this Kansas team 100 more times, you would probably win 51 or more of those contests. Giants have a problem with becoming comfortable in their size. They forget to take the Davids of the world seriously and then they fall. Media pressure with making this team No.1 and the "odds on favorite" to win the National title might have played a role in the loss, but the really great teams can rise above that and grab that title. I will admit that if you re-played this tournament over for ten times, the result would be 10 different champions and I still don't think this Kansas team would win one of them. I would also have to admit I like this playoff system better then the Div.1 football BCS.

sunny flowers- really? KU wouldnt win once out of 10 chances?! and you think UNI would win 51 times our of 100?! they had a good game against the best in the country. Adrenaline, luck, and more determination was a result of a win. they had one of 2 really good players. we had 5+ players.
we killed ourselves, UNI didnt beat us- we did. plain and simple.
Everyone better watch out next year. it will be a shalacking next year. Mario little, TT, Reed, Brothers, withy will gain weight and skill with manning.
Ku doesnt rebuild, we reload. Remember that. We will be #1 again!

It is utter insanity to even suggest we replace HCBS. Bill is one of best coaches in the country! I guess the Coach of the Year honor last year was just ignorant recognition by his peers?! Do you expect that just because we are Kansas, it is our god given right to win every tournament game and every championship??? We are 2 years from a National Championship, and one from Great 8, and yet there are some are calling for Bill's replacement? I suspect they are less a 'hawk', and more a tiger perhaps?? We have nothing but success in KU's future, and everyone needs to ignore the idiots calling for Turg to come back to Lawrence based on this awful upset. Get a life. Rock Chalk Jayhawk, and you have our backing and full support HCBS!

Those who think losing to UNI stings the most obviously knew nothing about UNI before the game...best do your research. Same with Bradley. I personally think Bucknell was the craziest, most stinging upset. UNI and Bradley were great teams with excellent players...Bucknell was a fluke.
