Kansas is still the team to beat. No team will go undefeated this year. Don't believe I would want to be Nebraska this week when the Jayhawks roll into Lincoln on Wednesday.
We'll see how things go. As I've said before, I think a mouse could starve on the difference in talent and depth between Texas and Kansas. Thankfully, Texas is about the only team out there that I could begrudge a conference and/or championship to.
I have to say Texas. We obviously showed in more than a couple games that you can beat KU. If we were deserving of #1 we wouldn't have been close or down in any games yet. Even if we beat them during big 12 play I will see us as only equal not better. The tournament will tell.
Texas has been dominating their opponents. The Jayhawks can, they just don't always do it. (Maybe there's a think called "hunger" that's lacking). All you had to do was look at the game against Cornell, an unranked team, playing on our HOME court, and you knew with little doubt how the game with Tennessee would turn out. I've heard so many fans say, "Well the Jayhawks are young", and to that, I say BULL. Everybody's young, almost no good players stick around to their senior year anymore. You gotta go with what you got and the Hawks best have a lot more "go" than they had on Sunday.
As for Nebraska; don't sell them short. We lived in Omaha for several years and a radio show had a sports question there, albeit a number of years back: "What team in the Big 12 does Nebraska have the best home court record against?" I knew it instantly: Kansas.
