I've seen a published image of it already.

Richard Payton 8 years, 1 month ago

Where did you see that? I've seen a published image of live birth but not birth certificate.

gccs14r 8 years, 1 month ago

They're the same thing. Different states have different names for the same document. My Kansas birth certificate is a Certificate of Live Birth and carries an embossed seal, making it official. The one we have seen for Obama is similarly embossed.

Mixolydian 8 years, 1 month ago

But I would like to see his plan to cut the deficit, cut the budget and a means to foster job creation instead of all of his other expletives deleted. i.e, kicking Israel in the nads, bowing to toadies, health care boondoogle, unecessary bailouts, cap and tax, VAT, amnesty for illegals, BCS reform (WTH?) and anything else that comes across the prompter.

It's been so very very long. Can't we all just get together and elect a normal president again? Someone not from Harvard this time. It hasn't really worked out for us the last 10 years, disasterously the last 2.

Jeff Cuttell 8 years, 1 month ago

Bush went to Yale. And I don't think you want to go there on the prompter thing. Obama is the best speaker this country has ever had at President. Many have used a prompter. The right just wants to call attention to it because he's so good at speaking to the public. Bush tried to use one, but his limited reading skills, made it difficult for him.

gphawk89 8 years, 1 month ago

Best speaker the country has ever had? Huh? He may be great at reading a script, either memorized or teleprompted, but ask him any question that he's not prepared for and you get, "Well, I, uh... um... ahh... umm...". Terrible.

gchawk 8 years, 1 month ago

Actually Clinton was a much more prolific speaker but, alas, the morals of a snake. I can't get over how the liberals are dismissing all of Obama's speaking blunders, re., "I've visited all 57 States", yet crucified Quale because he mispelled potato. That shouldn't be too surprising since most liberals I know spell it "tator". Why wouldn't we want proof positive of his citizenship since it has been questioned, and citizenship is a requirement by the constitution to be the President? If there is no problem there should be complete cooperation and I'd think Obama would like this settled once and for all.

vega 8 years, 1 month ago

I agree, no Harvards and such. Middle School is enough and a High School graduate should be tolerated only exceptionally

mae 8 years, 1 month ago

it DOES MATTER. if our president is breaking the constitutional law of the country then we are in trouble. i don't break the law so he shouldn't either.

ivalueamerica 8 years, 1 month ago

AT this moment in time, with all the facts out there, checked, verified and repeated again and again.

Those that still think Obama is not an American Citizen by birth or think he is a Muslim are simply extremist nut jobs and-or idiots.

lastcall4oh 8 years, 1 month ago

Was his mom an American Citizen? Doesn't that make him an American Citizen?

RiverCityConservative 8 years, 1 month ago

another bogus issue just like the way the rabid Republicans went after Clinton all 8 years sore losers and cutthroat politicians keep them as far away from power as possible for the good of the country

BorderRuffian 8 years, 1 month ago

You mean, kinda like the way the Demolibs went after each and everything Bush ever did? It's so amazing you can call his administration a failure after you and the Demolibs attempted to derail everything he ever did. How COULD he succeed when you guys did everything in your power to thwart him?

Maddy Griffin 8 years, 1 month ago

It might have been different if he had actually TRIED to do something besides make his cronies richer. Or if he hadn't been on vacation every time a crisis presented itself.

bruno2 8 years, 1 month ago

Say what ruffian? The elephants controlled the Congress also. Many times they simply locked out the dems and did what they wanted, like destroy the economy, make their buddies richer, bankrupt the country, etc. What planet were you on while this was happening?

Cait McKnelly 8 years, 1 month ago

Gee, you want to support a personal attack on the President let's talk about GWBs cocaine use, the way he dodged the Vietnam War and the fact that he couldn't put two coherent sentences together without repeating the same thing over and over again (WMD anyone?) even when it had been proven wrong.

parrothead8 8 years, 1 month ago

What do you mean, "How could he succeed?" He ran roughshod over the country for the six of his eight years that he was accompanied by a Republican majority in Congress. For those six years, Cheney -- oops, I mean Bush, of course -- did literally whatever he wanted, and Congressional Repubs voted the way Dick told them to vote. It wasn't until the final two years that the Dems started making it more difficult for him.

LogicMan 8 years, 1 month ago

I'm not interested but it would be good for all presidential and VP candidates to have a panel of independent unbiased experts review their constitutional requirements and health, and to report the results to the public well in advance of the elections.

sciencegeek 8 years, 1 month ago

Oh, puh-LEEZE! No one every doubted the citizenship of John McCain, andhe was born in Panama. Could it be that some people are so terrified by the thought of a black president that they go running after anything discredits him? Some have been quoted as justifying this nonsense by denying that Hawaii is part of the U.S.! Of course, that may say more about their stupidity than anything.

And lest you think these are just a bunch of gun-toting, sheet-wearing nut jobs, note this: 40 of 90 Arizona legislators, all Republicans, sponsored a bill to require presidential candidates to submit documentation proving their eligibility to serve as president before appearing on the state's ballot. The measure has been passed out of a House committee. Subtle, huh?

What's obvious is that the Republican approach is to pull every dirty trick out of the book to scare people. They don't give a damn about this country--all they want is to be in power. Period.

whats_going_on 8 years, 1 month ago

your crazy accusations about people not caring about the country is every bit as lame as their crazy accusations that we all want pure socialism. Just saying.

Tim Quest 8 years, 1 month ago

I've already seen it many times, and I wasn't particularly interested then, either. What a horribly misleading question.

Richard Payton 8 years, 1 month ago

Most likely born in Kenya that's why the Dems published a certificate of live birth and not a birth certificate. This was suppose to go to court in Philly. After Obama got elected this was swept under the table possibly because of fear of racial tensions. I voted for Obama but I believe he still needs to prove he has the constitutional means to lead this nation. If the republicians prove he was born in Kenya this makes Nixon look innocent. I think if he was born in the USA it would be easy to provide proof. Since the Dems have kept this from the public it makes me question his legal status of being my President that I voted for. This needs to be given the highest priority of the FBI or CIA.

Maddy Griffin 8 years, 1 month ago

Why on earth would 2 college students in Hawaii go all the way to Kenya to have their baby? This issue has been before many courts and got shot down every time.

Cait McKnelly 8 years, 1 month ago

His mother was an American. It doesn't make a damn bit of difference where he was born. As the child of an American he's a citizen (unless you doubt that his mother was born in Kansas). A certificate of live birth is a "birth certificate". I was born in Missouri and that's exactly the same thing my birth certificate says. All four of my children have birth certificates that say the same. Nor was it "swept under the rug". It was thrown out of court for having no legal basis. For god's sake it was even published in the Honolulu newspaper. But ultimately it makes no difference. By your reasoning John McCain shouldn't have been allowed to run either.

bruno2 8 years, 1 month ago

THEY DON'T! IDIOT! Check the links on my post below so you won't look so STUPID!

bad_dog 8 years, 1 month ago

The image of the purported Kenyan document I saw the other day didn't even have the correct name of the country (for that era) on the document. It's kind of hard to view that as an authentic government issued document when the country's name wasn't even correct. A small slip-up perhaps, but also a likely indicator the document is not authentic.

After having reviewed many fraudulent birth/death certificates from third world or underdeveloped countries, I can tell you that it's pretty easy to bribe a local official/doctor/hospital to get just about any "official" document your little heart desires. Not to say it's impossible to do in the U.S., but it's not likely to have both occurred and remain covered-up for any length of time, particularly given the amount of publicity this issue has received.

sourpuss 8 years, 1 month ago

Way to give some legitimacy to insanity, LJW. Why not ask if we've been kidnapped by aliens or denied a job because we weren't Templars or if we think we're descended from Jesus?

Richard Payton 8 years, 1 month ago

Tom the left would hate seeing the governor of California as President. Then being born in America would matter because it's part of the Constitutional requirement of being President of the United States.

geekyhost 8 years, 1 month ago

No, being born in America isn't the requirement. Being a "natural born" citizen is. As in born a citizen from birth, not a naturalized citizen. It does snot mean that you must be born on US soil.

Obama's mother was a US citizen, so Obama is a US citizen, no matter where he was born. McCain is also a US citizen in spite of being born in Panama, not the US.

Schwarzenegger is ineligible because he is a naturalized citizen, not a citizen from birth. Personally, I think it's a silly stipulation. I think one of the reasons this country is great is because we have immigrants. But even if that stipulation weren't there, I doubt anyone would need to fear him getting into office. Have you seen his approval ratings?

Richard Heckler 8 years, 1 month ago

I would rather see the lying war mongers and like bank robbers in prison.

Think about it. In the past 30 years the repub party has been in involved two major home loan scandals that effectively took the USA economy down the tubes. One is too damn many but twice represents repub economic policy. Wreckanomics is a failed economic policy. In fact wreckanomics is beginning to smell like well planned crimes.

The republican party have become masters at putting millions upon millions upon millions of people out of work. AND stealing taxpayers retirement plans along the way.

What Repubs do with a remarkable degree of consistency is wreck the economy, initiate huge movements of shipping jobs abroad aka the Reagan-Bush Global Economy and try to wreck social security and medicare.

Is there a definite pattern? Absolutely!

  1. The Reagan/ Bush Home Loan Scandal

  2. The Bush/Cheney Home Loan Scandal

  3. What did Bush and Henry Paulson do with the bail out money? (About the bank robbers)

The war mongers are killing the economy!

Taxpayers in Lawrence, Kansas will pay $209.9 million for total Iraq and Afghanistan war spending since 2001.

For the same amount of money, the following could have been provided:

67,135 People with Health Care for One Year OR

4,973 Public Safety Officers for One year OR

4,572 Music and Arts Teachers for One Year OR

25,583 Scholarships for University Students for One Year OR

37,825 Students receiving Pell Grants of $5550 OR

2,522 Affordable Housing Units OR

121,048 Children with Health Care for One Year OR

34,739 Head Start Places for Children for One Year OR

4,515 Elementary School Teachers for One Year OR

216,117 Homes with Renewable Electricity for One Year

There are other more interesting questions about Dear Leader. “1. Obama may have lied about conversations with convicted fraudster Tony Rezko Blagojevich's lawyers allege that Rezko admitted breaking the law by contributing "a large sum of cash" to a public official. Blagojevich's attorneys say that public official is Obama. Obama said that Rezko never relayed a request from a lobbyist to hold a fundraiser in favor of favorable legislative action. But the point may be moot: regardless of Obama talking/not talking to Rezko, Blagojevich's attorneys say that Obama refused the request regardless. Redacted portion: However, the defense has a good faith belief that Mr. Rezko, President Obama’s former friend, fund-raiser, and neighbor told the FBI and the United States Attorneys a different story about President Obama. In a recent in camera proceeding, the government tendered a three paragraph letter indicating that Rezko “has stated in interviews with the government that he engaged in election law violations by personally contributing a large sum of cash to the campaign of a public official who is not Rod Blagojevich. … Further, the public official denies being aware of cash contributions to his campaign by Rezko or others and denies having conversations with Rezko related to cash contributions. … Rezko has also stated in interviews with the government that he believed he transmitted a quid pro quo offer from a lobbyist to the public official, whereby the lobbyist would hold a fundraiser for the official in exchange for favorable official action, but that the public official rejected the offer. The public official denies any such conversation. In addition, Rezko has stated to the government that he and the public official had certain conversations about gaming legislation and administration, which the public official denies having had. Redacted footnote: The defense has a good faith belief that this public official is Barack Obama….” Source:

Cheney was a piece of work, he was. His 'residency' problem when he chose himself for VEEP was interesting, not illegal, but interesting. Residency is a state of mind, not an address, no? Just ask Senator Pat. He claims he 'lives' in Dodge City.

mom_of_three 8 years, 1 month ago

It's not secret. There is a certificate of live birth for the president. Many people have the same thing. Does that make them not residents? And don't forget the birth announcements in the paper.

Richard Payton 8 years, 1 month ago

A certificate of live birth is like a birth announcement just proves you where born not where?

The Obama campaign released a copy of the certificate in 2008. Did that stop the nonsense? Of course not! The whole point is to throw as much cow flop as possible and hope it sticks. Anyone who buys this crap is a FOOL, pure and simple. Hey, don't take my word for it. There are numerous articles and web sites proving this is crap. The part that nags at me is why would Obama go to great personal expense and lengths to keep the birth certificate secret? If there was nothing to hide wouldn't it make sense to just allow its release and be done with it?

I've heard two possible explanations. One, he was not born in the USA and two, the certificate lists his race as white (as in his mother's race). Truth is the second one is more plausible.

75, unfortunately for those that adopt your position, it is a hed herring/distraction that was created and perpetuated by the right. You don't see many Democrats screaming for this info do you? It isn't just because they're D's and don't care as long as their candidate won. I have reviewed the available documents and am satisfied-the same as I would be if it was Reagan's or Nixon's or any other R president.

Folks that adopt this position are arguing the State of Hawaii is engaging in and perpetuating a Constitutional fraud. Do you really believe a conspiracy of this nature and significance could remain secret?

Bob_Keeshan 8 years, 1 month ago

If you don't think it is a birth certificate, then you must also be outraged that you can't get a Kansas birth certificate.

thebigspoon 8 years, 1 month ago

Yeah, BS, I mean TS, you can dream. And, apparently, that is ALL you can do. You can not post anything that makes even the remotest sense, you can't post anything that replies directly to any subject, and you can not think critically. You can, however, be critical, and that is just great, except that you are never critical in a copnstructive, realistic way. Tearing apart every argument is your forte, but calmly answering and proving is not. Try some realism for a change. Opinion is great; rhetoric, unfounded, is not, nor is your pontificating about the future of everything. Get real, Tom, and try giving us something solid to think about.

Just imagine, if Obama had been born in Hawaii on Aug, 4, 1959 instead of Aug. 4, 1961, the birther fringe could howl about his eligibility because we would have been born in a territory of the United States instead of a state of the United States.

Barack Obama (aka Barry Soetoro) was born in and was a citizen of the Phillipines. The Hawaiian "birth certificate" presented is not a valid birth certificate under Hawaiian state law. Despite one's political leanings, this is a valid issue as it goes directly to BO's presidential legality.

Perhaps on your flat earth where the sun rises in the west, this is true. Oh, yeah, and you are aware, I'm sure, that man has never set foot on the moon but was filmed in a Hollywood studio.

God help us all if you personify the "loyal opposition". You and Shew need to wake up, smell the roses, and get off your prescriptions, if indeed they are prescriptions.

There are a ton of valid reasons to have no confidence in obama..... .....this one is a waste of time and will go nowhere. Just like accusing him of being a muslim.

Obama's mother was born in Kansas - now that is something to worry about,...

Bob_Keeshan 8 years, 1 month ago

There is no proof Obama's mother was born in Kansas.

The only record available is one similar to the one produced in Hawaii.

She was obviously born in Kenya.

vega 8 years, 1 month ago

Oh yeah, she is a Kansan girl, like it or not.

average 8 years, 1 month ago

Do we have the slightest 'real' (whatever the birthers would consider real) proof that Ann Dunham is really his mother? Er, no. And, yet, somehow, they seem willing to accept that. Can't say that makes any sense.

Bob_Keeshan 8 years, 1 month ago

Where is her birth certificate?

The only record available from her birth is a certificate of live birth from the Kansas Department of Health and Environment.

And that cannot be trusted. So obviously she was really born in Kenya.

vega 8 years, 1 month ago

No, no, no, you are so wrong - she comes from Mars, but was 'reported" as being born in Wichita (just like the Superman) - this is why Obama wants to fund NASA go back to the Martian ancestral land of his, think about it.

I am amazed at the incredible lack of knowledge and political bullcrap that is on display here.

Do you think that Hillary Clinton and John McCain would have passed on making this an issue were there ANYTHING to this non-issue? Do you not think Sara Palin would be standing on top of the Capitol building screaming her lungs out if there were a shread of truth of this ridiculous rumor? Does anyone here still think there was a second gunman? Same crowd, same stupid lame drivel. Obama is really an alien who wants to get a rocket made by NASA to return home!!

"...this is why Obama wants to fund NASA go back to the Martian ancestral land of his, think about it.!"

"Obama is really an alien who wants to get a rocket made by NASA to return home!!

Well, that certainly explains it---I see it all so clearly now. An elaborate plot all to the end of returning to his planet of birth. Quick, somebody, copyright the idea and make a movie of it. In 3-D.

You birther know-nothings (the same people who cheered the state BOE when they took Evolution out of SCIENCE class) are the reason I fled Kansas and only look back to see basketball box scores (and recruiting news)... I find it endlessly disheartening that your virulent strain of ignorance is so contagious nationwide.

If there's anything disappointing about Barry Obama, it's how closely he hews to the standing policies that feed the monstrosity that is the military-industrial complex. I understand why people are angry about the way the government spends our tax dollars, but I don't understand why these voices are just now being heard at such volume... oh wait, it's because he's black and you're racists.

The G.O.P. is a three-ring circus of closeted homosexuals lying to the Christcentric/farmer/homophobe/racist/nutjob base and the Dems are corporate suck-up wolves in sheep's clothing. Both teams' payrolls are covered by the same Fortune 500 front office, and they're all committed to one thing -- their own political self-preservation. Guess what? Nothing's going to change, because people are too ignorant to see past their flat screen TV. Whether Fox News or MSNBC, change the channel, Goofus.

Sorry to be so cynical, but if America doesn't get post-political in a hurry, we're going to be a chapter in the next softcover edition of Mr. Diamond's Collapse. Those statues on Easter Island look a lot like a corporate logo...

That's a pretty good Olberman impersonation you're doing there. Can you make the veins in your neck throb like Olby does when he really gets going?

And yet another Illinois Democrat with major legal problems: "Regulators shut down the bank owned by Illinois Treasurer Alexi Giannoulias' family on Friday, setting up an expected but daunting challenge in his bid to keep President Barack Obama's old Senate seat in Democratic hands. Broadway Bank, which was heavy into real estate loans and lost $75 million last year, had been given until Monday to raise about $85 million in new capital, but the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. announced at the close of business Friday that Broadway was among four banks, all in Illinois, that had failed.... Giannoulias' family could walk away with millions in tax refunds after writing off Broadway Bank's losses -- giving Kirk the chance to paint him as a fat cat. Kirk -- who raised $2.2 million in the first quarter of the year compared to $1.2 million for Giannoulias -- also has criticized some decisions made while Giannoulias worked at the bank, including revelations that it had loaned $20 million to two convicted felons...."

Now snap hates people of Illinois as much as he hates the American voter. Idiot.

flatlanders 8 years, 1 month ago

Why is this still an issue? Download a pirated copy of photoshop and fake any certificate you want. Does anyone want to change Sara Palin's birthplace? And call it real? And wasn't John McCain born in Panama?

jaywalker 8 years, 1 month ago

For all the love of the good and holy............

Why is this still around? Could we please move on 'cuz I swear this might be one of the biggest red herrings I've ever heard about.

"snap hates anyone who doesn't believe exactly the way he/she/it does."

You couldn't possibly have proved yourself a bigger hypocrite than with that statement, beo. Everyone's still waiting for you to post one, single, solitary intelligent, original thought. Non-partisan is out of the question, we know, but the trolling is beyond tiresome.

I wouldn't mind seeing the stone tablets on which John McCain's birth was recorded. Sanskrit, yes?
