I voted NO!

I think Mass street should be the carnival street.

Bring on the carnivals!

This has been going on for awhile.

I miss the Get Downtown Festival - that was a fantastic and well-run event. Lawrence needs more events like that downtown.

sounds like a drunk homeless convention

As long as the store owners on that block are ok with it, it would be a good thing.

What about another concert like the had a couple of years ago. They had great bands and there were people of all ages there.

If it is really an entertainment event, then fine. If it is just a fake event, designed to dodge the restrictions of marketing on campus, then no.

Is'nt the Sand bar on that street? Are they the ones getting stroked?

If it is a "college fair" why is it not on campus? If it is a community event, fine. Otherwise keep your coke sponsored credit card sign up traps on Jayhawk Blvd.

I also agree with CC. How about another set of concerts with food and booths from local restaurants and stores all around?

I agree with CC, but the proposed "college fair" is a joke. All it will do is take money out of Lawrence. An outside company comes in, closes down a block for a day so they can run a bunch of money-making schemes for three hours, then packs up and leaves town with a bunch of money that could have been stayed in Lawrence. Sounds like a good, old-fashioned snake-oil salesman to me.

Agree with CC above. Also think they should reopen it in the winter.

As long as it is a family environment. This city has so few things for families to do these days, shutting down a single block of a relatively quiet street is worth it!
