Well I'm hoping she won't really be a screaming newborn, but I imagine it'll seem like it at 3 am when I'm all nice and sleep deprived. They keep telling me I'll be amazed with the things I find I can suddenly do after having kids such as nursing a baby with one arm while tying a shoe with the other hand (major kudos on that multi), but my husband seems to the be one gaining the amazing reflexes.

Every minute I'm out of Lawrence is a truly worthwhile vacation.

no sweet_child not to me but I have not had a newborn living with me for 8 yrs so 2 me vacation means no kids no one expecting anything from me no cooking no cleaning and doing what ever I want to within the law, and as long as I am not hurting anyone.

It maybe vacation time from work but if I'm going to be with a screaming newborn the entire time does it really count as a vacation?

I'm heading for a Rocky Mountain retreat... no phone, no internet, mixed case of good wine, bottle of Bruichladdich, humidor full of cigars including some Cubans... peace, quiet, no requirements...

I bought airline tickets for vegas in january and got them for 209 round trip, i went on line the other day to see how much they cost and now they are 1068 for a round trip. we also paid for our room already and got them at a discounted price and they have since doubled. I am soooooooooooo glad that we planned in advance. Start looking now for some vacation time in september or october, it shouldn't be toooo expensive right now as long as you do it in advance!goood luck and goooooood traveling

Multidisciplinary (Anonymous) says I got in the back to nurse the baby, and my 3 yr old needed her shoe tied.. while backing up in a van.i recommend staying out of the back of vans - seems to solve a lot of problems.

I took the best kind of vacation this year. I took off a whole week, and did NOTHING. Woke up when I wanted to, sat on my couch, read, watched TV, played in the garden, went out to eat. It was truly a relaxing weekend!
