The concept of myspace is kinda creepy at times, I admit. But I have my page and photos and blogs set to private, I only add people I know, and it is a great FREE way to communicate with friends and family hundreds and thousands of miles away. Its a cool tool, if utilized with caution!

They are the new reality for many young people; for better or worse, this is where we are heading and people will be likely to spend more time in cyberville and less time really interacting with other humanoids in what used to be called the "real world."

I would have guessed a bigger difference than 50/50. Means younger people don't subscribe to or read the LJW online, I guess.

I have a MySpace page. I don't really fit the norm, as I'm a married 30 year old. I don't use it for any sort of "social networking" beyond subscribing to various musical group's blogs so I can be kept abreast of new music releases or tours. It's fantastic for that...

MySpace and similar social networking sites aren't creepy. Creepy people are creepy, and they go on being creepy whether they are online or walking down the street. I don't associate with creeps in real life, nor online. I'm 40 and have a MySpace page, Facebook page, and numerous other networking/link site pages. Most of my 40ish friends and business associates also are listed on those sites. I don't hang out on MySpace, or even visit or update my page regularly, but it's free advertising for my business. Many people use those sites to find services (perfectly legitimate services as well as creepy services).

I have one, and now I actually have a internet stalker who knows where I work and what town I live in... Myspace is great for networking but a easy way for people to get stalked and harassed....

I have a myspace profile, but only use it to communicate with family in Colorado, California, Arizona and Texas. It can be creepy, however its YOUR choice on who you approve as a friend. DON'T approve creepy profiles...
