This is a ridiculous question. Adding more classes won't result in less drinking. It will result in more missed classes.

KSChick - I was following this on the article thread. When I was in college it was MWF for classes. The MW classes usually had a F discussion session. The article implied that it isn't like it used to be? Or I got that impression. So, I take it that it is still MWF for the lionshare of classes?

"teachers only teach Monday thru Thursday: from the first comment posted...

Uhhhh, you apparently have never attended classes at KU. They are about 98% Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, or Tuesday and Thursday. Some classes meet Mon. and Wed. only, but that's not the norm. And the profs who meet only Mon. and Wed. are NOT doing it to facilitate drinking.

Why don't you think before you post???

How about putting bar owners in jail for serving underage drinkers? Put the kids in jail, too, and make their parents bond them out in person. If the consequences of illegal behavior are sufficiently severe, the behavior will stop.

I remember when Wednesday night had the best specials and Thursday was the slow day.

Should we next beef up Saturday classes to cut down on Friday night drinking?

Hmm, if changing the legal drinking age from 18 to 21 does not deter college drinking, then why does anyone think Friday classes will do the trick? What's next? Ask the bar owners to get rid of drink specials during the week so students will go straight home and study?! Let's allow the students to figure out the meaning of "responsibility" by themselves.

KU should beef up classes on Friday to provide a better education to their students not to fight Thursday night drinking. Honestly, the tuition going up yet the teachers only teach Monday thru Thursday? Students and parents aren't getting what they paid for. It certainly wasn't like this in my Chemical Engineering classes.
