Should the state charge higher Turnpike tolls to fast drivers?

The fast drivers spend less time on the road, therefore should get a discount. How about a fast lane. Make the left lane unlimited speed... If you can average 120 mph or higher you should get a free pass at the tool booth.

I do not think that proposition is a fair one. As a current turnpike user I feel that a little slack should be given to those who pay to use the road. Why should we be doubly charged to drive on a major highway? I believe that state legistatures should look into decreasing their wages and costs and not mess with the tolls.

Most of what the state calls "public safety" regarding traffic offenses is really "revenue enhancement" for the state.

Our taxes are already at excessive levels. Ripping us off on the false claim that they're interested in our safety makes a mockery of the legal system, particularly given the lynch mob mentality found in most traffic courts.

Ha ha. Legalize speeding? What's next? How about the legislature set the speed limit artificially low so that we can collect all sorts of money!
