Shari Schaake carries a big pumpkin out of her parents farm at the Schaake Pumpkin Patch on Wednesday Sept. 26, 2012 as lots of water through the summer has made for a bountiful crop.
Heading in after a afternoon of picking pumpkins Kynlee Dressler 4, sits on a pile of pumpkins as the Schaake Pumpkin Patch at 1791 N. 1500 Rd. will open this weekend.
The Schaake's have customers who want a special pumpkin greeting .

The Schaake's pumpkin patch is the best, although the one at the Louisburg Cider Mill looks pretty good, too, just never been to it. Just don't try to do what a lot of places are doing now and start charging admission. We'd hate to miss our yearly trip to Schaake's but I refuse to pay admission as well as purchasing pumpkins, jelly, veggies, etc... Some of them in and around the metro are $8-10 per person. Crazy, man.
