Bo Killough, far right, presented a check to Linda Klinker from Cans For the Community, second from left, matching the funds she earned through her efforts in April to raise money for local nonprofit organizations. The check presentation was May 12 at Johnny’s Tavern West.
Fourth-grade teachers at Quail Run School, from left, Alea LaFond, and Terri Durgan, enjoyed the Lawrence Schools Foundation Follies from the balcony at Liberty Hall. This year’s event, held April 15, raised more than $30,000 to help support teacher grants and other district programs.

The ladies luncheon for the Lawrence High School men was held May 23 in the cafeteria as a “thank you” lunch to the men who prepared breakfast for the ladies at semester break. Retiring teachers Joan Starks, and Deb Engstrom and Friedemann Eisert (not pictured), were honored. Pam Fangohr, Lisa Werner, Julie Vineyard and Martha Oldham were on the luncheon committee. End of the year activities included teacher awards and fun activities.
