The Lawrence Alumnae Panhellenic Council held its annual meeting Aug. 20 at the home of Jannie Barron. Members, from left, are, Scholarship chairwoman Kris Marsh, Delta Delta Delta, and Laura Lewis, Delta Zeta, both of Lawrence; Megan Renehan, Zeta Tau Alpha, Eudora; Secretary Dallas Pasco, Alpha Chi Omega, McLouth; and Treasurer Karen DeVictor, Delta Gamma, Vice President T.K. Shively, Sigma Kappa, Immediate Past President Virginia Curran, Pi Beta Phi, Allison Purcell, Alpha Sigma Alpha, Carol Hatton, Kappa Kappa Gamma, and President Jannie Barron, Kappa Kappa Gamma, all of Lawrence. Carolyn Woodling, Delta Zeta, was unable to attend. The Lawrence Alumnae Panhellenic members sell geraniums each spring to help finance a senior women’s college scholarship at each of the Lawrence public high schools.

Boy Scout Troop 61 took a bite out of crime July 12, completing their crime prevention merit badge by visiting the Douglas County Juvenile Detention Center. Merit badge counselor Schulyer Bailey arranged the tour. Corrections officer Andy Wolff guided the tour. Wolff explained the entire process of the system.
