Vernis Flottman of the Lawrence Pilot Club, right, received a helmet from Sean Coffey, left, and Scott Dieker both of the Lawrence Fire Department. The club donated $1,500 for the purchase of helmets for the Lawrence Bike Helmet Fair on April 30. The March 14 helmet presentation was held at Conroy’s Pub.
Becca Booth, marketing manager of Douglas County Bank, right, presented Sally Zogry with a $1,100 check on April 13 at Health Care Access Clinic from their first quarter fundraising program. The bank raised funds to provide care for three patients for the entire year, along with a number of wish list items to help with patient care.
Haskell LIGHT Campus Ministry held a three-day event with guest speakers March 2-4 at Haskell Indian Nations University’s Roe Cloud Dormitory. The theme was “Time to Heal, Time to Rebuild” and Ponca-We Victors was the keynote speaker.
