James Miller, 18, of Overland Park, and Kimberly Taylor, 37, of rural Lawrence, were both taken to Lawrence Memorial Hospital after a two-vehicle accident that occurred at the intersection of North 1100 and East 1750 roads Friday, June 3, 2011. The two persons' injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.

Annie Hadl, Eudora, and her daughter Taylor, 7, stopped in Burcham Park Friday, June 3, 2011, to see the Kansas River flooding the park. Taylor noticed the high water as they passed over the bridge into downtown Lawrence and the decided to go to the park to get a closer view. The park was closed by the city at 5 p.m. Thursday.
