When preparing to buy the Seeds from Italy, Dan Nagengast arranged for a small Franchi seeds display to go up at Cottin's Hardware & Rental, 1832 Mass. The seeds were a big hit. “We have a couple of customers who actually have roots from Italy or who have visited Italy or are Italian cooks that were really excited about it,” Linda Cottin says.

Lawrence resident Chuck Benedict, 85, stacks loaves of donated bread along a table at the Douglas County Senior Center on Wednesday, July 13.
