Friday night's Tour of Lawrence July 2, 2011
Hundreds turned out in Downtown Lawrence to watch the opening night of the Tour of Lawrence, which included live music and street sprints.

Members of Team Mercy Cycling, Adam Mills, 31, Lawrence, front, and Colton Jarisch, 23, Austin, Texas, warm up while spectators line New Hampshire between 7th and 8th streets. The pair were participating in the opening event of the Tour of Lawrence, the street sprints on July 1, 2011. Hundreds turned out to watch and enjoy live music.
Siblings Beth Anne Jordan, 7, and Joey Jordan, 8, both of Silver Lake, celebrate Friday night with a carnival ride on Eighth Street, which was set up with children’s activities. Spectators lined up nearby on New Hampshire Street to watch the Tour of Lawrence sprint races Friday evening. Tour of Lawrence activities continue today on the Kansas University campus.
