The Fort Larned Belles, dressed in period costume in this photo, won the state-wide contest for creating a Kansas Centennial menu. The contest was sponsored by the Kansas Press Association. The winning menu included Fort Larned Oxtail Soup, Kansas Centennial Fried Chicken, Kit Carson Baked Potatoes, Wagon Train Gravy, Cherokee Corn-on-the-Cob, Lean Bear Tossed Salad, Sliced Love Apples, Buffalo Bill Biscuits, Sand Hill Plum Jelly, Pawnee Creek Ice Cream, General Custard White Cake and Black Kettle Coffee.

This brochure was one of the many pieces of literature that was published around Kansas' centennial celebration in 1961.
