The Lawrence Chamber Orchestra held a celebration in honor of its music director and conductor, Steven McDonald, back row, at left, who earned a doctorate in orchestral conducting from Kansas University’s School of Music this May. Hosts were Greg and Joan Pease of Tecumseh. Guests were recent and present LCO board members and families.
Presiding over the April 30 Delta Kappa Gamma initiation of the Lawrence Omicron chapter, from left, are Cathey Parsons, president, and Jean O’Toole, member, both of Lawrence.
Delta Kappa Gamma Society International is a professional honorary educators society of women educators from around the world. There are chapters in 17 countries. The Lawrence chapter, Omicron, has 43 members. Five women educators were initiated into the Omicron Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma Society International on April 30. From left are Jean Reimer, Marilyn King and Georgiana Beverly, all of Lawrence, and Trish Bandre’ and Holly Gaylord, both of Baldwin City.
