Two bodies were found outdoors in Lawrence over the past two days, police say.

Lawrence police are investigating both deaths but do not suspect foul play in either, Officer Derrick Smith said in an email.

A person walking in the area found the first body lying next to a wooden fence shortly after 10:20 a.m. Sunday in the 1400 block of East 24th Street, Smith said. He said the deceased person was identified as a 48-year-old Lawrence woman.

About 8:20 a.m. Monday, police were dispatched to a reported medical emergency in the 1000 block of Wellington Road, Smith said. When officers arrived they found a deceased person outside near a fence, he said. The body was identified as that of a 24-year-old Lawrence man.

Smith said he did not have additional information to release about either incident.
