Police say a man threatened other downtown bargoers with a gun in the 1000 block of Massachusetts Street Thursday night. The gun came out after a fight in a music venue spilled outside.

Police were dispatched to a disturbance with weapons at about 11:15 p.m. at the Granada, 1020 Massachusetts St., Officer Derrick Smith said in an email to media Friday.

There was a physical altercation inside the venue before staff broke it up and removed the people involved from the building, Smith said.

Outside, the female victim and an acquaintance approached the two suspects — a man and woman — at their vehicle in the 1000 block of Massachusetts Street, Smith said. At the vehicle, the male suspect reportedly threatened the victim and her acquaintance with a gun, Smith said.

The suspects got in the vehicle and left before police arrived, Smith said. The police investigation continues.

The woman was taken to a hospital for injuries she suffered during the fight inside, Smith said.
